When apples are consumed in their entirety, the fiber and pectin present in the fruit slow down the process of gastric emptying, leading to a more gradual release of sugars into the bloodstream.

However, when apples are processed into juice, these beneficial components are lost, resulting in a concentrated form of sugar that the body absorbs more quickly.

an apple is very different than apple juice right i was i was at visions a fast and i was doing a talk on sugar and i go
you know apple juices the worst and vicious moms in vegas because my mom raised me an apple juice i'm like sorry mom but it's like a coke it's got more fructose
than the fructose in a coke
now an apple fantastic because you have all that fiber the pectin that's going to slow down gastric emptying but you have it just as a juice it's a slam
it's the worst apple juice concert which by the way this drives me nuts on a label you can say no sugar added and use apple juice concentrate well and it is worse for you than high fructose corn syrup
like that is criminal here's a mom trying to make the right decision she's going into the store she sees the little yogurt for her kid
and it says no sugar added
and it's got this
garbage fruit the bottom that's been soaked in apple juice concentrate that just turned it into a sunday
