I didn’t “get my body back” postpartum.
.
My body is forever changed postpartum.
.
In the best way possible.
.
When I was pregnant, people would tell me all the time that I would miss my old body & that things just wouldn’t be the same PP. There was always a negative connotation behind these statements & it honestly stressed me out during my pregnancy thinking I would never get my strength & endurance back.
.
When I first started working out again PP, I was so defeated. I had trouble engaging my core, I had to do push-ups on my knees & I couldn’t do a single, unassisted pull-up.
.
Spending time working out gave me mom guilt. I constantly felt like I had to be tending to my son or working around the house. I felt judged by society for taking any time away from my mom duties to workout, but the truth is, working out & spending that time on myself, made me a more present mom.
.
I joined a crossfit gym & that gave me just the motivation I needed to take control of my health & build back my strength PP. I was surrounded by so many other strong moms & I felt empowered to fall back in love with fitness.
.
I can honestly say I am stronger, faster & more resilient now than I ever was before having a kid. Not by luck, but by making a decision to show up EVERY. DAY. (even when it was hardest).
.
God’s design for the female body is truly so beautiful & amazing! Don’t underestimate His design 🫶🏼
