Normalize crying at work.

It’s nothing to be ashamed about or to apologize for. Crying is vulnerable and vulnerability is a strength, when used wisely.

In this example, a manager gave me some very hasty, inaccurate feedback. This made me, understandably, emotional.

I found power in articulating why I was crying. It was my way of holding that person accountable. And I stopped apologizing. This helped me release the shame attached to crying at work. Very freeing.

normalized crying at work i've cried at work so many times i've lost count if you're like me i have a tip for you whenever i would cry at work instead of saying oh my god i'm so sorry i'm crying i would challenge myself to instead communicate what i was feeling so the perpetrator would have to sit with that for example i would say i'm crying right now because this feedback makes me feel really minimized and demotivated try it next time and remember vulnerability is a strength
