“Exciting news!  It’s been reported that the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, which took effect on 29 Dec 2022, will take precedence over the new Migration Strategy changes that relate to the 485 Temporary Graduate visa.  That is, the reduced durations for the 485 visa that are set to kick in around mid-2024 will not affect potential 485 visa applicants who hold Indian passports.     This means that eligible Indian passport holders who upon completion of their qualifications and meet the usual 485 visa eligibility criteria: • Upon completion of diploma or trade qualifications, can stay up to 18 months • Upon completion of bachelor’s degrees (including honours), can stay up to 2 years • Upon completion of master’s by research and master’s by coursework degrees, can stay up to 3 years • Upon completion of doctoral degrees, can stay up to 4 years For those who want to get in contact with us, send us an email at [email protected] or call us on +61370651628 DISCLAIMER: This disclaimer applies to all social media posts from Maison Chen Law Group and its associated entities.
