I regret not showing my dad just how much I appreciated him while he was still here. In his memory, I’ve focused on giving back to my mom in every way I can. My mom was the reason why I could fight my depression and keep on pushing forward. Even though I’ve now retired her, I still feel there’s more I can do. So I tried to understand her more as a friend, not just her child anymore by talking to her and experiencing the world with her. The clock never stops ticking. They are getting older.
