Here’s why you don’t want to leave important decisions to the end of the day…⁣
Each morning, we wake up with a finite amount of willpower (which some call the ‘active self’). ⁣

With every decision that we make throughout the day, and with all the stressors we face, this willpower (our ‘active self’) is depleted bit by bit.

By the time we get to the evening, especially if it’s been a highly stressful day, or we’re had to make a lot of complex decisions, our cup is usually near empty. ⁣

This could lead to: ⁣
– difficulty making the right decisions, ⁣
– struggling to weigh up trade-offs between two or more options, ⁣
– impulse buying, or ⁣
–other avoidance behaviors. ⁣

So, where possible, save the complex and important decisions to the following morning when your cup of willpower has been restored, your battery recharged and your ‘active self’ replenished. ⁣

imagine this cup of water represents your willpower for the day with every decision that you make a little water is tipped out should i hit the snooze button what do i eat
what do i wear how do i reply to this email what do i say in a client meeting with every decision your expanding mental energy and depleting your willpower and if you make too many decisions in a short period of time
you reduce your decision making ability it's called decision fatigue each day we have a certain amount of water in our decision cup once it's gone so is your willpower but the best news is your cup is refilled each night
so when it comes to important decisions don't make them at night wait until you're fresh the next morning and your cup is brimming with willpower
