I grew up in the hood just like thousands of kids with undocumented parents do. I was the lil hood Mexican girl who wasn’t always the smartest in the room, but I loved math. Unfortunately, I didn’t see Latino engineers in my community and I was becoming a product of my environment. This is one of the reasons why I go so hard for undocumented immigrants and Latinos in STEM. I wish I saw pages like @foosinmedicine or @fiercebymitu growing up and maybe I would of believed in myself sooner.
