When I first found out I had the opportunity to fly to space as a researcher, I made a private pledge to myself to not tone down any part of my femininity or personality — it was important to me to show up in training and in space as my full self. That’s the example I wanted to set for Delta, and for any little girls AND boys watching and adding to their understanding of what a woman in STEM (and an astronaut) can look like, sound like, be like. 💕
