#1 Don’t draw ur followers for free! ( people will only follow u to get free things. They don’t care about you or your art! ) #2 Don’t mass follow people on “artist support groups”. This does nothing to help you in the long run and just creates circles. #3 Try to post 3-4 times per week. No more no less. #4 Save old footage on a hard drive to reuse and recycle in the future. Dozens of reels can be made using the same footage. #5 Don’t overwhelm yourself with drawing challenges like inktober or collaborations, particularly time sensitive ones. #6 Network with people with 20%-40% more followers. #7 Avoid like-baiting or guilt tripping for followers #8 Keep at least a quarter of your videos simplistic( one high quality 7 sec clip with a viral sound) #9 Use repeating/ looping audios so people stay on ur video longer. #10 Respect other artist and creators and they will respect you. #11 Remember that loosing followers Is not always a bad thing. Ig routinely removes bots and unengaged accounts. This is good for your account activity in the long run. #12 If you find yourself in a toxic group chat or discord server of artist leave silently and immediately. If you smell smoke there is probably a fire. (Trust me an artist safe space can quickly end in anarchy) #13 If a middle aged white woman that’s a girl boss that has clearly had cosmetic work done randomly tries to commission you its definitely a scammer. —————————— If u can’t tell if someone is a scammer, just send me a screen shot of their dms and profile. *i am great at sniffing them out *
