Yes!! We have a housing shortage, and YES, there is a massive difference today than back then as it relates to income V prices, but this ripping video from 1968 shows that even back then, some people thought real estate was too expensive - at $3,000 a block!

Australia is changing as a country. We are becoming a nation where more people will not be able to afford a home where they want one. It’s very sad, but it’s where we are going and I don’t think there’s any turning back.

What do you guys make of this?

excuse me you're just coming out the auction room did you buy a block of land after why not expensive
how much
how much do you want to be
about sixteen hundred
and what were the prices of runners morning the last fifteen or so blocks who started at two thousand and going up to anywhere between three and four thousand
so what you do now
we have to wait and hope for the best of the next word
is out on whether there's a complete shortage of land of
what the position is but the restricted option was just assumed
coming it's ridiculous to
sort of pay such a load of money for a block of land when you don't really own it and anyway i mean you still pay a hundred dollars a year to read the damn thing
how did you get the auction to get a block of land you wanted yes we did we were very fortunate this morning
and
there was some high prices play but
we tried a price that we thought was quite satisfactory if you don't congratulations but if you don't mind my asking you how much did you pay
three thousand one hundred dollars
and what was the size of the land
approximately one
road in area thirty nine and a half purchase was blogworld what was the frontage
seventy
seven foot traffic and what they
believe a hundred and twenty five
