so first off some of the seasonality december is a hard time if you've been applying for jobs over the last month but things tend to really start to pick up second and third weeks of january so now's a great time to be keeping an eye on your favorite companies are your favorite type of roles and getting those applications in as fast as you can after posting so that you can increase your chance of getting an interview second really start leveraging your network we find that referrals internally candidates end up having a much higher return rate and a much higher probability of at least getting a phone screen by the recruiter so where you know people who worked for the company can you reach out and have coffee can you connect with them and can you get them to put their stamp on your application lastly if there are conferences or opportunities to work with people in person and make those key connections that are going to help you get a future job it is best to take them whether this is a job specific event or just a company retreat
