You have to be willing to offend people to make friends and the more friends you have the more willing you have to be to offend people.

The reason you are getting friends is because you set some form of boundary that made you a healthy and likable person people would want to be friends with.

But as the number of people you know increases, the pressure they put on you does too.

If you cave into the pressure of others too much it makes you smaller and less likable.

So if you want to continue becoming more popular you have to get stronger. Because even though some people feel offended when you set a boundary it's also something people value.
