dear god
as the dawn breaks i lift my soul to you in prayer
thank you father for the gift of this new day
the chance to embrace life to learn
to love
and to serve
i am grateful for the breath in my lungs and the opportunities that lie ahead
as i prepare to embark on this day's journey
i ask for your guidance
grant me the wisdom to discern your will in every situation
the courage to follow your lead
and the humility to accept your plans over my own
helped me to be mindful of your presence in every interaction and decision i make
lord i confess my faults and shortcomings to you
forgive me for the times i have strayed from your path for the moments of doubt and for the times i have failed to extend your love to others
