board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and the owner of my body soul psychiatry and almost made you make peers a nurse practitioner i make six hundred thousand
hello you been doing this for
ten years
and what type of education degree that you have to become a nurse practitioner i did four years undergrad and then two and a half years of master's program
and how are you doing so well as a nurse practitioner what does executor you do
so i started a private practice i was working in patient and i didn't really
feel like the setting was conducive to people healing you know i feel like people need to exercise eat well have a lifestyle overhaul and so i decided to go into private practice outpatient
now what do you enjoy about doing private practice instead of working at a regular hospital
i get to do things that are different i felt like sometimes hospitals are you know they're very opposed to change and transformation and i feel like i'm able to just do things the way that i feel clients would best have
optimal results and what was that biggest fear that you had taken a leap of faith starting your practice were you scared to any moment
i was definitely scared i tried to reach out to other nurse practitioners nobody was really like starting private practices i did go to social media and i did connect with some nurse practitioners that were like not in new york and they were really really helpful in deciding the way
and it will be best advice you want to give this someone i want to become a nurse practitioner like yourself
i would say definitely do it there's a lot of people that are going into psychiatry but i would say don't do it for the money because it is extremely stressful you have to be able to say hey this is a huge responsibility it's a lifestyle overhaul let me make sure that i'm exercising eating well so that i'm showing up as my best self my patient
