Starbucks: More Than Just Coffee!
Starbucks recognized a gap in the US market, focusing on creating a "third space." They didn't just sell coffee; they sold an experience, reshaping how we view social spaces.

what business do you think starbucks is in coffee was not their business they recognized a gap in the us that many other parts of the world like europe some parts of asia have and it's called the third space the first space is work that's where you show up and you go the second space is home you go home in america we were greatly lacking and what they call a third space in a third space is somewhere it's not home and it's not work but somewhere you can go sit for a couple hours hang out get some work done have a conversation meet somebody
in fact when they came on the scene lunch and america was on a timer you actually had restaurants that were going okay hey we're so happy to have you we're gonna put this little clock on here and if we don't get your meal out in fifteen minutes it's free because we want to get you in and out of here as quick as we can okay we don't want you hanging around afterwards
